Activities & Involvement:

During my time at Penn State I took advantage of the many extracurricular activities they had to offer. As a freshman, I became a brother of the business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi. I also partook in Penn State’s THON as a Dancer Relations Committee member. In addition, I was a member and a THON Performance Chair for the Penn State Sing language Organization. Furthermore, I presided over the Audiology Club in my role as president.

Honors & Achievements:

I was extremely fortunate to have graduated Penn State with honors through the Schreyer Honors College after undergoing additional independent coursework and writing an undergraduate thesis. I made Dean’s List several times and graduated from Penn State in only 3 1/2 years. I was also awarded a student grant to shadow and assist a local audiologist.

Future Plans:

I plan on attending Montclair State University in pursuit of a doctoral degree in audiology (Au.D.). I hope to make a difference in the lives of children who are also hard of hearing and to be a role model for them.

Proudest Moments:

I am most proud of 2 things: my abilities to self-advocate and to make the most of my 4 years at Penn State. Attending college and living on my own was a huge learning curve in understanding how I had to stick up for myself in terms of my hearing loss. I find that I owe part of my success to the fact that I was very open and candid to professors and even my friends about what accommodations I needed. In addition, I made sure that while I maintained my grades, I still made an effort to soak up every moment with my friends and to let go and have fun!
