Activities & Involvement:

In high school, I was part of an all-girls robotics team. We competed in competitions at the state level and won some awards. I also have a black belt in Martial Arts.

For almost 10 years, I was part of a Girl Scouts troop. I have been volunteering my community for many years and have helped out at many events. Volunteering gave me the opportunity to meet new people and form new connections.

Honors & Achievements:

I was inducted into the National Honor Society on the basis of Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service. As a Girl Scout, I received the Gold Award, a prestigious award, teaching Origami to special needs kids and senior citizens as a way of helping them feel included in the community. I also got the Bronze Presidential Volunteer Service Award for completing 50 hours of community service. I was awarded the National Certificate of Distinction Award from the NC Women in Technology Aspirations in Computing. I received this award for demonstrating interest and having experience in computing.

Future Plans:

I am attending the business school at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. I plan on majoring in Supply Chain and Management with a minor in Computer Science and a concentration in Entrepreneurship. After business school, I hope to start my own company as a way to help the community. I am also planning on starting an Origami club in college and I am exploring the Army ROTC programs as well.

Proudest Moments:

I am proud of myself for what I have achieved so far with the help of cochlear implants. I know I still have a long way to go.
